Stamping and texturizing solder on bronze is one of my favorite things to do! Each piece is one of a kind because I never know exactly how it's going to turn out. I love to look at the pieces and find different designs and shapes in them, kind of like watching the clouds on a beautiful, sunny day.
I first handcut and hammer the bronze, then I play with the solder until it's something I love. After that, it's oxidizing, hours of tumbling and finally, polishing.
These are accented with ceramic beads, made by a group of artisans, in Eswanti, Africa. I've been there 9 times and they are an amazingly talented group of artisans. The proceeds from the sale of their beads and other products pay their wages and the profits help support the 270+ children that are being raised on Project Canaan... truly an amazing organization, www.heartforafrica.org
